The first major party in recent years, the night of no-holds-barred comedy proved to be both hugely popular and controversial.

After that, a debate quickly erupted over which sports figures might be next in line for the roast.

Mahomes also revealed to the former All-Pro punter that he was invited to participate in Brady’s roast but declined.

“There were some funny moments there. I’ll admit that,” Mahomes said later.

“The comedians did a good job. But with a roast there are no rules, you kind of have to go there and sit there and listen to everyone talk bad about you.

“So I will stay away from it all my life. And I will try to stay on the straight and narrow.”

Clearly understanding, McAfee applauded the two-time MVP’s “good decision.”

As for who could be next, Mahomes suggested “they could get” his teammate Travis Kelce.

The nine-time Pro Bowl tight end would likely be an extremely popular target for a roast, given his fame on and off the field.

Over the past year, Kelce’s notoriety has skyrocketed in part due to the New Heights podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother and former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason, but mostly because of his ongoing romance with pop sensation Taylor Swift.

However, while Mahomes believed Kelce might be willing to give the roast a try, he quickly added that he wasn’t sure he could attend.

He noted how Brady’s former teammate Rob Gronkowski was “almost as bad as Tom was at the roast, so I don’t know if I could be there if Travis leaves.”

Mahomes’ hesitation is understandable, especially considering how Brady recently reflected on his own roast with a sense of regret.

Appearing in The pivot podcast, Brady admitted he regretted how the experience affected his children.

“It’s the hardest part – like the bittersweet aspect of when you do something you think is one way and then suddenly you realize I wouldn’t do it again because of the way it affected the people I was with. I care. the largest in the world”, he explained.

Brady’s comments came just days after a report claimed that his ex-wife Gisele Bundchen, who was the butt of many of the jokes, was “deeply disappointed” with the roast, a source said. People.

The source added that “as always, [Bundchen’s] The priority is to support your children who have been affected by the irresponsible content that has been broadcast.”
