PATRICK Mahomes is struggling to withstand some of the negativity from NFL fans.
The 28-year-old Kansas City Chiefs star has a strong claim to being the best football star on the planet.
But even elite athletes can’t escape the scrutiny of their numbers.
A clip of Mahomes arriving at Chiefs camp brought up the topic of his “dad bod” again recently.
Pat McAfee brought this up on his show and Mahomes took advantage to defend himself.
“I feel good, man,” Mahomes said. “It kind of surprised me, I thought we got the whole dad body thing out of the way last off-season, last season, actually, in the playoffs.
“But I don’t think people realize I don’t have abs.
“So I’m going to keep working on that and hopefully one of these days we can figure out how to get a looser t-shirt.
“I mean, the backpack is holding up my shirt, man, at least a looser shirt.”
Mahomes shed some light on the work that goes into his figure.

“You know me, man, I’m not a wine guy, I’m a Coors Light guy, that’s who I am,” he joked.
“Yeah, I mean, dad bod doesn’t happen on its own, you need to put some Coors Light in there.”
Mahomes recently stated that he can no longer face teammate Travis Kelce on off nights.
Mahomes noted that Travis’ brother, Jason, a former Philadelphia Eagles center, may also guard them during the party.
Travis and Jason, however, didn’t agree with this for a second.
“I’m calling bullshit,” Jason said on the latest episode of his New Heights podcast.
“Pat can keep up. He knows he can. He’s playing shy now.

“Everyone knows, especially if it’s Coors Light, that no one is following Pat.”
Travis even claimed he saw Mahomes “drink Coors bars.”
“When you have a Jheri mohawk curled like a mullet, you can drink a few beers,” Jason joked, adding, “I’m not trying to hear any of that, Pat.”
“Your body doesn’t look like this for nothing, Pat,” Travis then joked.
“That father, doesn’t look like that for nothing.”
