Price took to Instagram to share that he was forced to retire from the NFL due to the medications he is taking.

“In the blink of an eye, everything can be taken away,” he wrote.

“On April 24th I had emergency pulmonary embolism surgery to remove a clot that was entering both of my lungs.

“For a healthy 29-year-old young man, an unprovoked pulmonary embolism with no further medical explanation is frightening.

“I am truly grateful to be alive today.

“Unfortunately, I will be retiring from the NFL as the risk of internal bleeding while on blood thinners creates a tremendous risk.”

Price was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals with the 21st overall pick out of Ohio State.

He played for the Bengals from 2018 to 2020 before being traded to the New York Giants in 2021.

Price spent a year with the Giants and then signed with the Arizona Cardinals in free agency in 2022.

He was not signed by any team at the time of his medical retirement.

Fans were quick to share their support for the striker in their Instagram comments.

“I love you, man. I’m glad you’re okay,” said one fan.
