Former Minnesota Vikings star Jared Allen is convinced he broke Michael Strahan and TJ Watt’s sack record.

The 42-year-old defensive end racked up 22 total sacks during the 2011 NFL campaign.

Allen joined Kay Adams on her show Up & Adams on Tuesday to discuss his career.

He stated that during the 2011 season he accumulated 23 sacks in total.

That would put him ahead of the NFL record of 22.5 achieved by Strahan in 2001 and Watt in 2021.

“You can ask Aaron Rodgers — I was 23 that year,” Allen told Adams.

“They made fun of me. Monday Night Football, Aaron Rodgers.

“They called it a muff on Wednesday. They gave the team a sack instead of me.

“I’m on the team, so I should get half a sack. I tackled the man.”

Allen’s tackle on Rodgers came after the legendary quarterback fumbled the ball.

NFL rules dictate muffed snaps and fumbles, individual defenders will not be credited for the snap.

“But that wasn’t the rule,” Allen argued.

“[Rodgers] He caught the ball, made a football play and then dropped it.

“It’s on record – I am the rightful owner of the single season dismissal title.”

“It clearly sucks,” gasped Adams in response.

“It was definitely stolen,” replied a fan on X to the filming.

“Insanity. And Strahan SOMEHOW still has “record” because Favre FELL for him on his final sack,” said another.

Career rise of Kay Adams

Kay Adams is a fantasy football expert who rose to fame as the host of Good Morning Football in New York City for six years.

Having previously hosted fantasy-based shows, Adams took on the role of host of GMFB when it launched in 2016.

And, along with Nate Burleson, Kyle Brandt and Peter Schrager, she helped make that program one of the best in the sport.

Adams left GMFB to pursue new ventures in 2022.

She moved to Los Angeles and teamed up with FanDuel to start a self-titled show – Up and Adams.

His latest show airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET, sometimes in special locations like the Super Bowl or Kentucky Derby.

“Looking back at how he didn’t win the DPOY,” gasped a third.

“Fired from the team? When only one man approached Rodgers? The guy got robbed,” a fourth added.

Allen was a five-time Pro Bowler and spent 12 years in the NFL.

He racked up 136 sacks in the league, along with 648 tackles.

Earlier this week, New York Giants edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux told Strahan he was coming to clinch his all-time sack record.

“Let’s just get started, if you’re wondering, I’ll put it on record – so don’t ask,” said the former 5th overall finisher. NJ.com last week.

“Every year I’m here, I look for Michael Strahan’s record.”
