AARON Rodgers doesn’t belong in the NFL GOAT debate, according to Stephen A. Smith.

The ESPN First Take co-host is a huge fan of the 40-year-old New York Jets quarterback.

But when asked if Rodgers would join the discussion about who would be the greatest quarterback of all time if he won the Super Bowl next year, he gave an emphatic answer.

“The fact that his talent, as spectacular as it is, as a quarterback in the National Football League has not led to a Super Bowl, much less a victory, in 14 consecutive years, I cannot defend that,” Smith said. , 56, he said.

“And we all know I was the one who coined the phrase ‘He’s a baaaaad man.’

“He’s that guy. I love Aaron Rodgers, I think he’s spectacular.

“I think he is being criticized a lot unnecessarily for how he feels off the field.

“As a quarterback, he’s special. I love him, I believe in him.

“But credentials are credentials, when we Google you, when we look for you, the numbers speak for themselves.

“He’s not in that category in terms of wins.

“So there’s no way you can beat him in the goat debate.”

Smith began his speech by highlighting the fact that Tom Brady, 46, has seven Super Bowl rings.

I can’t wait to block Aaron Rodgers – being the 11th pick in the NFL Draft by the New York Jets felt like I was living a dream

Patrick Mahomes, 28, has three wins – including the last two in a row – and plenty of years to add to his career.

Rodgers was crowned world champion with the Green Back Packers in 2011 but has yet to return to the big stage.

His first season with the Jets was cut short by a horrific injury in his first game.

“I would still prefer Tom Brady over Aaron Rodgers, even with one or two more Super Bowls. I don’t want all this drama,” replied a fan on viral clip of Smith’s take.

“I hate Jets Stephen A, but I have to be fair and balanced. Winning a superbowl on another team would absolutely put him in the GOAT conversation,” another added.

“Everyone who is honest knows that the three best QBs of the modern era are Mahomes, Rodgers and Manning,” posted a third. “If you write off these three guys as rookies on the 2000 Patriots, they won’t just win 6 Super Bowls, they’ll win close to 10.”

Mahomes is struggling to withstand some of the negativity from NFL fans.

The 28-year-old Kansas City Chiefs star has a strong claim to being the best football star on the planet.

A clip of Mahomes arriving at Chiefs camp brought up the topic of his “dad bod” again recently.

Pat McAfee brought this up on his show and Mahomes took advantage to defend himself.

“I feel good, man,” Mahomes said. “It kind of surprised me, I thought we got the whole dad body thing out of the way last off-season, last season, actually, in the playoffs.

“But I don’t think people realize I don’t have abs.

“So I’m going to keep working on that and hopefully one of these days we can figure out how to get a looser t-shirt.

“I mean, the backpack is holding up my shirt, man, at least a looser shirt.”
