UP And Adams host Kay Adams had the highest praise for Houston Texans general manager Nick Caserio.
The fourth-year GM joined Adams’ FanDuel TV show on Thursday as he and the Texans prepared for training camp.
Adams began the interview by pointing out that there were “a lot of reasons to be excited” about the franchise.
“You win the [AFC] South, you pick the two rookies of the year – the fans are more excited about the vests,” she stated.
Adams then noted that the Texans have even started selling their vests at the team store.
Caserio, 48, is well-known around the city of Houston for his customary Texans jersey and blue vest ensemble, often seen on the sideline, in interviews or at NRG Stadium sporting the unique combo.
Despite his best efforts to politely change the subject, Adams wasn’t going to give up so easily.
“Did you know there are people out there who put and embroider their faces on a vest?” she commented.
The custom vest in question has an embroidered copy of one of his photos from his time with the New England Patriots on the chest, with “Fear the vest” underneath.
“I didn’t see that, Kay, it’s the first time,” commented Caserio.

“It’s probably worth about a penny. It’s probably worth less.”
Adams asked Caserio what it was like “being a fashion icon?”
“I’m not sure I’m really a fashion icon when it comes to anything,” he responded.
“The choice of dress is just the comfort factor more than anything. I think it’s my spring, kind of New England vibe.
“When it’s 95 degrees and sunny and humid here, that’s not going to go away for a while.”
Caserio’s tenure in Houston was difficult to begin with, inheriting an aging team with little roster space, fresh off a 4-12 season under then-head coach and general manager Bill O’ Brien.
After two difficult seasons led by coaches David Culley and Lovie Smith, Houston’s fortunes finally turned around in 2023 under first-year coach and former Texas linebacker DeMeco Ryans.
