MIAMI Dolphins star quarterback Tua Tagovailoa looked unrecognizable in his new look.
The 2023 NFL Pro Bowler debuted his new hairstyle on Thursday.
Tagovailoa appeared at the launch of his Perry Ellis collection at Macy’s in Aventura, Florida.
He participated in a meet-and-greet with fans while NBC 6 South Florida posted video of the spectacle.
The clip went viral when Tagovailoa was seen wearing long, curly hair hair and a clean-shaven face.
Fans mocked the 26-year-old’s hairstyle at his public appearance.
“There’s no way it could be him,” commented one.
“Bro needs to keep his beard,” wrote another.
“This doesn’t look anything like Tua,” said a third.
“That’s a different man,” a fourth added.

The confusion led to NBC 6 sports reporter Giselle Epinales, who posted the video, confirming that she was at the event and that he was indeed Tagovailoa.
“You guys are awesome with the comments,” she wrote.
“Believe me, it’s Tua… Just clean-shaven.
“He was great with fans taking photos and signing autographs.”
Last season, Tagavoiloa rocked a full beard and a shorter hairstyle.
He led the NFL with 4,624 passing yards and threw for 29 touchdowns in 2023.
Tagavoiloa led the Miami Dolphins to an 11-5 record before losing to the eventual Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs in the Wild Card round.
Fans also believed the Miami quarterback was thinner than usual in this week’s public appearance.
They would be correct, as Tagavoiloa has lost 10 to 15 pounds and is down to 220 pounds, so the Alabama product could improve his mobility on the field, his coach Nick Hicks said. Sports Illustrated.
The five-year veteran was seen participating in Dolphins organized team activities (OTAs) earlier this week.
Miami will begin its season on September 8th when it hosts the Jacksonville Jaguars.
