Steveson won an Olympic gold medal in Tokyo and signed with WWE in 2021.

He is considered one of the most dominant college wrestlers in NCAA history.

Steveson boasts next-level athleticism despite his stocky 6-foot-2, 275-pound frame.

He is expected to play on the Bills’ defensive line, for ESPN.

“I have been fortunate to compete at the highest level in my sport,” Steveson told the outlet.

“Now I’m looking forward to the challenge of seeing how my wrestling skills can translate to football.

“I thank the coach [Sean] McDermott, Brandon Beane and the Buffalo Bills organization for giving me this opportunity.”

“Excited to see what he can do!” replied a Bills fan on X.

“The Bills got an absolutely strange athlete in Gable Steveson,” added another.

“I didn’t have that on my bingo card today,” said another.

Steveson has never played competitive football and will likely be on the Bills’ practice squad in 2024.

His agent Carter Chow said Buffalo was “not the only team that expressed interest” in signing his client, according to an ESPN report.

Hailing from Indiana, Steveson attended the University of Minnesota, where he was a two-time NCAA Division I national champion.

Steveson represented Team USA at the Tokyo Olympics, winning the gold medal in wrestling.

He made a surprise appearance at WWE’s SummerSlam in August 2021, signing with the company weeks later.
