The quarterback is a Chiefs hero after leading them to three Super Bowl titles.

But Mahomes, 28, maintains strong ties to Texas after many personal milestones and sporting success there.
The Kansas City Chiefs superstar is often seen supporting the Dallas Mavericks or the Dallas Stars.
Last weekend, the Chiefs quarterback received a standing ovation while watching a Mavs playoff game from courtside.
This was in stark contrast to his teammate Travis Kelce, who was booed when he appeared on the big screen sitting next to him.
When not in person, Mahomes regularly tweets his support for NHL and NBA teams.
Mahomes was born in Tyler, Texas — about a 90-minute drive east of Dallas.
He attended Whitehouse High School in nearby Whitehouse, Texas.
Mahomes’ sporting talent was evident from a young age in football, baseball and basketball.

Furthermore, he met his future wife, Brittany, while studying at Whitehouse High.
The sports star was a three-star college recruit and had offers from Texas Tech, Rice and Houston.
The Detroit Tigers also made a speculative attempt at him, selecting him in the 37th round of the 2014 MLB Draft.
But instead, he chose to play college football at Texas Tech.
And Mahomes threw 93 touchdown passes in just 32 games for his college team, which caught the attention of NFL scouts.
He skipped his final year of eligibility in 2017 and opted for the NFL Draft.
Since earning the Chiefs’ starting job, the former 10th overall pick has never failed to reach at least the AFC championship game.
His three Super Bowl wins in four starts at age 28 put him on track to challenge Tom Brady’s seven rings.
Outside of the NFL season, Mahomes spends a lot of time at his $4 million summer home in Westlake, Texas.
When his NFL career is over, Mahomes could be the best to ever play this game.
He can probably count on Kansas City being free after the success he brought to the region.
And it looks like he’ll always feel right at home in Texas, too.
