College football fans have been surprised by ticket prices as the 2024 season approaches.
With just over two months until college football returns, fans across the country have started paying for upcoming games.
Tickets are notoriously expensive, with the most recent national championship between Michigan and Washington offering an average ticket price of $2,845, according to Axes.
That was more than $1,000 more than just 12 months earlier when Georgia beat TCU.
However, even regular season tickets can cost fans a lot of money.
For example, on September 28, Alabama will host Georgia in what could be one of the biggest games of the season.

As of May 12, this was “the most expensive ticket in all of college football for the 2024 season,” according to Vividseats, via Sports Illustrated.
The prices for the much-anticipated game between these two giants were so expensive that one fan admitted: “My pockets are crying right now.”
As a second said: “Thank God my parents have season tickets to Bama because the tickets to Bama, Georgia, LSU and Tennessee games are crazy.”
For all fans who have not yet purchased tickets to the game at Bryant–Denny Stadium, the cheapest available seats will cost $272 starting June 6, according to Stub Hub.

However, if fans want the best remaining seats in the Zone Champions Club, it will cost $2,173 each.
Again, this is light compared to National Championship tickets.
The game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, may only be seven months away, but even that far away, ticket prices are already skyrocketing.
Seats in the rafters now start at $1,514 each.
If any fan is looking for a suite, they can currently be expected to shell out $8,972 per person.
Exactly what is included in these specific suites is unclear.
Whichever teams make it to the National Championship game will be a part of college football history.
College Football Changing in 2024
The move of Oklahoma and Texas from the Big 12 to the SEC is one of the biggest changes in college football in recent memory.
And that set off a chain reaction that left the Pac-12 conference decimated.
The Pac-12 has lost 10 of its 12 members and is down to just Oregon and Washington states.
Four of those teams are headed to the Big 12 – Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and Utah.
Four others go to the Big 10 – Oregon, UCLA, USC and Washington.
And the other two teams, California and Stanford, will participate in the ACC conference.
No team has left the SEC, Big Ten or ACC.
The 2024-2025 season marks the first since the college football playoffs began in 2014 to feature a 12-team format.
Instead of the usual four teams, eight will face each other in the First Round, played at the stadiums of the best-ranked teams.
The winners will move on to the quarterfinals, where the four highest-ranked conference champions will join the group.
This new structure has also meant that the National Championship will be played on its last date to date – January 20th.
Despite this, it remains scheduled for Monday night – something not all fans are thrilled to have discovered.
