He hilariously revealed the news before the knockout game.
“BREAKING: Source(s) close to the situation are saying that Pat McAfee will be out tonight for the CONCAFA SC Win or Go Home game at 9pm as he is dealing with a hip flexor strain/complete tear that happened in the middle of his free kick against @JJWatt’s Burnley FC team, which missed the net by 40-50 yards,” wrote McAfee.
“The source went on to say, ‘Pat couldn’t get up from the bathroom this morning without feeling excruciating pain.
“He also had a very distinct limp while going to brunch with the boys this morning.
“That’s what 37 years is like for a guy who hasn’t raced in a few decades,” was the final comment.
“I’ll keep Yinz updated with more news as I hear.”
CONCAFA FC triumphed 3-2 over Supra United FC 3-2 despite McAfee’s absence.
He could be seen charging down the touchline, albeit with a slight limp, to celebrate with his team.

And the former punter, who played as a winger, later approved the celebration.
“That’s how these boys roll,” he said as his teammates drank beer while he was interviewed.
Tenfifteen FC are next in the round of 16 as the McAfee team looks to win the $1 million seven-on-seven competition.

McAfee spent seven years in the league with the Indianapolis Colts.
He is now a popular sportscaster on both ESPN and WWE.
And before his career on the football field, McAfee was a talented football player in high school.

Pat McAfee had a hugely successful period before switching to a career in media.
The talk show star served as a punter in the NFL for eight seasons from 2009 to 2016.
He was a seventh-round pick in the 2009 NFL Draft out of West Virginia and spent his entire career with the Indianapolis Colts.
The former punter was named to the Pro Bowl in 2014 and 2016, and was also a first-team All-Pro in 2014.
McAfee holds the NFL’s single record for highest career net punting yardage average at 41.4 yards, while his longest punt of all time was 74.
During a standout moment in a game against Nati FC, McAfee surprised fans with an excellent play.
He effortlessly trapped a quick pass before delivering a perfect cross to Mike Grella.
Grella hit the perfect volley past the trapped goalkeeper.
“I know he’s used to kicking a ‘football’ but man…that was an awesome touch from Pat,” one fan gasped in response to the filming.
“I’ve seen enough. Give him the Ballon d’Or”, laughed another.
“Messi, be careful,” commented a third.
