Jason Kelce Admits He’s ‘Nervous’ About ESPN Role After Career Change, But Thinks It’s ‘Healthy’

JASON Kelce has revealed he is looking forward to his new job at ESPN after retiring from the NFL in March.

Philadelphia Eagles legend will be analyst on Monday night Soccer this fall.

Kelce signed a multi-year contract with ESPN to appear on MNF’s pregame and halftime coverage.

The 36-year-old had previously been an NFL offensive lineman for 13 years, making the Pro Bowl seven times and winning a Super Bowl during that time.

On Friday, Kelce shares her discomfort about her new gig while on Whiskey ginger podcast with comedian Andrew Santino.

“I’m nervous. And I think that’s a good thing,” he said.

“Every game I’ve played in my life, I’ve played very well [in]I was nervous, at least a healthy amount.

“It doesn’t get to the point where you think you can’t do it, but there’s a healthy respect for your opponent… whenever I’ve played a really good player, I’ve always felt like I played better, because all week I was really into preparing for that guy.”

Kelce continued, “When you try harder because of that nervousness, I think it usually results in a better product.

“Now once you’re out there you can’t be nervous, you just have to go, but I think it’s healthy to be nervous about where I’m at right now.”

Jason comes to the ESPN role with some broadcasting experience.

Last season, he appeared on Amazon Prime’s Thursday Night Football.

Kelce was an analyst for the primetime game while his Eagles were off.

The networks were reportedly committed to signing him up for a broadcast contract after his retirement.

Jason’s outgoing personality was showcased on the New Heights podcast.

He co-hosts the show with his brother, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce.

The podcast debuted in 2022 and is released every Wednesday.

The brothers tackle “New News,” “No stupid questions” and generally include interviews with the biggest names in the NFL and entertainment.

Jason’s first game for ESPN will be huge.

He will analyze the 2023-24 NFC champion San Francisco 49ers and the New York Jets when the two meet in Week 1 on September 9.
