SPORTS Analyst Kay Adams I got into a heated debate with a fan about Patrick Mahomes on X, formerly known as Twitter earlier today.
The Up & Adams host posted a video titled “It’s Almost Impossible for a QB to Succeed Without a Top 10 Defense.”
During the videoAdams talks about how Los Angeles Chargers QB Justin Herbert has great offensive numbers, but his team isn’t successful.
Adams said Herbert’s former teammate Chris Harris Jr. blamed the QB for not having a top-10 defense.
The former Good Morning Football host posted a photo of QBs and their average defensive rating during his career as a starter.
Tom Brady came in first, while Justin Herbert came in 28th and last year’s Super Bowl-winning QB Patrick Mahomes came in seventh.
“We’ve lost sight of the fact that these defenders don’t win games on their own, it’s almost impossible to find a defender without the support of their defense in the top 10, 11, 12,” Adams said.
But one fan didn’t believe Adams’ opinion on the matter and criticized his opinion.
“Patrick Mahomes had the 24th ranked defense in 2018 and it took an overtime loss to Tom Brady to keep him out of the Super Bowl in his first year as a starter, we have to stop with all these excuses for Herbert,” argued the fan.
But Adams was quick to respond writing“Mahomes may already be one of the top 3 QBs of all time. ‘Mahomes did it’ is not a reason to discredit every other QB.”

“ALSO—- They lost that game because of the defense (Dee Ford jumping offside).
“They went 1-1 in the playoffs that year BECAUSE the defense bit them. Then they brought in spags (and defensive talent) and Mahomes is 14-2 in the playoffs since then. Top 10 defense in 4 of the 5 years,” Adams commented.
Adams shares his opinions on various sports during his daily FanDuel TV show.
Last week, Adams shared his predictions for New York Jets second-year defensive end Will McDonald IV.
Adams praised Mcdonald IV and listed him as one of his top three defensive standouts during a segment called You Me & Top 3.
The 38-year-old mentioned that the defensive end saw “limited action” and still managed to secure three sacks last season.
“[McDonald’s] will have more opportunities to showcase the freakish talent that made him a first-round pick out of Iowa State,” Adams said.
Kay’s ‘wedding dress’

KAY Adams took his show to the Kentucky Derby this year.
“Mark my words [and] You can fight me.”
Mcdonald IV was selected by the Jets as the 15th pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Adams was previously a featured player on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football.
The former presenter announced her official departure from Good Morning Football on May 12, 2022, after a six-year run.
Adams has hosted the NFL show since its debut in 2016, along with Peter Schrager, Nate Burleson and Kyle Brandt.
