Mahomes, 28, watched the drama in Pinehurst, North Carolina, closely last week.

DeChambeau, 30, won the tournament for the second time, securing a victory over Rory McIlroy with an epic 55-yard bunker shot on the 18th.

The Chiefs quarterback praised the professional golfer for his spectacular record in a social media post.

DeChambeau responded a few days later – suggesting an intriguing challenge.

“You, me and Trav Break 50, let’s go!” the California native he wrote.

Break 50 is a game that DeChambeau frequently hosts as part of his YouTube series, featuring many high-profile guests.

In the challenge, participants try to complete 18 holes in less than 50 strokes.

After the opening shot, they choose the best shot and continue from there, using the same rule until the end of the round.

Mahomes is an avid golfer.

Earlier this year, the quarterback hosted a golf tournament during his foundation’s fundraiser in Las Vegas.

Meanwhile, Kansas City’s preparations for the 2024 NFL season are underway.

Mahomes recently revealed that the defending Super Bowl champions can turn things around on offense in his three-pearl offering.

‘Well commented personal life’

Travis Kelce was asked about his relationship with Taylor Swift during an interview with Good Morning America.

But the Kansas City Chiefs tight end gave a cautious response.

“When you have good family and friends around you, that aspect of life becomes so much easier,” Kelce told GMA.

“I’ve always been a very grounded guy. Maybe it’s not like that when I’m playing football.

“But off the field, I just want to be a genuine person. I try not to go too far.

“Because you never know what opportunities are going to present themselves.”

He joked that coach Andy Reid was “forcing me to push the ball downfield” during offseason workouts.

“If I don’t do that, he gives me little jabs like, ‘Oh, you want to throw the check here?’” the former Texas Tech standout continued.

“I say, ‘I got you, coach; let’s force it.’ It’s been fun.”

Mahomes will have a lot of weapons to rely on next season.

The Chiefs signed veteran wide receiver Marquise Brown as a free agent.

They later selected sprinter Xavier Worthy in the first round of the NFL draft.
