The CLEVELAND Browns defensive end was released after crashing his SUV into a Florida restaurant and being charged with drunk driving.

Photographs reportedly taken from the scene in Key West, Florida, show a vehicle stuck on the side of a restaurant, with damage estimated at $300,000.

An officer with the Key West Police Department said the front passenger side of the car was inside the Red Shoe Island Bistro, leaving a hole in the wall.

The vehicle had “disabling damage to the front with the driver and front passenger airbags deployed,” the officer wrote.

Phelps, 23, was taken into custody after refusing to cooperate with deputies, according to a report from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

Phelps also faces a property damage charge following the incident.

He was with a 21-year-old woman, who is reportedly his girlfriend.

The restaurant was closed at the time.

The establishment posted photos of the damage on Facebook.

“It could have been really bad. The angels were watching over us all,” was written next to the photos.

He then signed a reserve/future contract with the team in January, shortly after the 2023 season ended.

But after that incident, his time with the Browns was over.

The team is currently preparing for the 2024 season.

The Browns begin their campaign against the Dallas Cowboys on September 8th.

They have more games in September after that, against the Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Giants and Las Vegas Raiders.
