DALLAS Cowboys superstar Dak Prescott is headed for what appears to be a make-or-break season, but one expert believes the franchise should make him the highest-paid quarterback in the league.

Quarterback Prescott is in the final year of a four-year, $160 million contract he signed in 2021.

His playoff record is dismal, but ESPN’s Chris Carlin appeared on First Take to argue that he still deserves a lot of money from the Cowboys.

“What is my best opportunity to win? I can win with Dak Prescott,” Carlin said.

Prescott’s 2-5 postseason record frustrates Cowboys fans around the world.

But Carlin pointed out that Trevor Lawrence, Jared Goff, Justin Herbert and Lamar Jackson make more than him and have worse QB ratings in the playoffs.

“You don’t know what you have until it’s gone,” Carlin added on First Take.

“We all seem to forget that he came in second for this year’s MVP.

“This is not a bad player. We all pretend he’s a bad player.

“You make him the highest paid player, what does that really mean?

Fans weren’t shy about giving their verdict on Carlin’s opinion on X, the site formerly known as Twitter.

“This is the laugh I needed today, thank you @ChrisCarlin. The funniest thing I heard all year,” said one fan.

“No one was looking for this shot, I promise,” another fan wrote.

“You can’t win with Dak in the playoffs, his skills are limited for him to take them to the next level,” a third fan posted.

“Dak can’t handle the postseason pressure. Every Cowboys fan and most NFL fans have seen this and know it’s true,” said a fourth fan.

Before purchasing tickets from resale sites, check the prices as they are third-party sellers and, more importantly, the cost may vary depending on demand. You can pay more than an official ticket, but you can also get good last-minute deals.

But if you can’t make it in person, don’t worry, there’s still time to set up your stream before the season starts.

“He certainly hasn’t been shown enough when it really matters,” said a fifth fan.

Prescott himself recently insisted that money is not a motivating factor for him.

“I don’t play for money. I never cared about it, to be honest with you,” Prescott said.

“I would give up just to play this game. So I allow business people to say what it’s worth, what they should give to a quarterback in my game, a person in my game, a leader in my game.

“For me, it’s about, like I said, controlling what I can control and dealing with that part and the rest will take care of itself.”
