ARCH Manning’s football lineage resembles something from an episode of House of the Dragon.
The 19-year-old Texas quarterback is next in line for the quarterback throne in the House of Mannings.
This year he will have the chance to prove that he is the heir to the previous Manning kings.
At 6-foot-2, Manning is a prototypical quarterback ready to make his mark with the Texas Longhorns.
Last year, he made his college debut when he took the field during a blowout win over Texas Tech.
Arch played just twice last year and completed two of his five pass attempts for 30 yards as the third-option QB.
But his standout performance in the spring game left fans excited and Manning eager for a bigger role.
He threw three touchdown passes, including a 75-yard deep strike on his first throw.
Manning is entering his second year and is still behind Quinn Ewers on the Longhorns’ depth chart.
The 19-year-old will have more eyes on him this year as Texas makes its SEC conference debut after leaving the Big 12.

And he has admitted in the past that carrying the Manning family name is not easy.
Arch’s father is Cooper Manning, 50, who played football in high school because of a back injury.
Cooper pursued a career in media, where he hosted a segment on The Dan Patrick Show and appeared on Fox NFL Kickoff.
He still does some media work on the side, including with his famous football brothers, Peyton and Eli.
Peyton, 48, is a former No. 1 NFL Draft pick and uncle of teenager Arch.
He is a five-time NFL Most Valuable Player and has won two Super Bowls, one with the Indianapolis Colts and one with the Denver Broncos.
Peyton has also been to 14 Pro Bowls and is one of the best to ever play quarterback in the NFL.

But his younger brother, Eli, wasn’t too bad either, winning two Super Bowl rings.
Eli, 43, was also picked first overall in the NFL Draft and spent his entire career with the New York Giants.
The youngest of the NFL’s Manning brothers beat the New England Patriots twice to Super Bowl victories.
He went to four Pro Bowls before joining Peyton in the media after retiring.
If those uncles and his father weren’t enough football family heritage, Arch can always look to the man whose name he carries.
Archie Manning, 75, spent 13 years in the NFL, from 1971 to 1984.
He went to two Pro Bowls and was inducted into the New Orleans Saints’ Ring of Honor and Hall of Fame.
The former quarterback has been inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame since his time at Ole Miss.
The football torch has been passed down through Archie’s three sons and on to the next generation.
And Arch hopes to be the next King Manning to occupy the family quarterback throne.
