NEW England Patriots legend Julian Edelman says Travis Kelce’s infamous confrontation with Andy Reid wouldn’t have happened under Bill Belichick.

The 34-year-old Kansas City Chiefs tight end yelled in his coach’s face and bumped into him after Isiah Pachecho’s fumble in the Super Bowl.

Reid’s Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy – Kelce later apologized for his “unacceptable” behavior.

Edelman, 38, was asked how Belichick would have reacted if his own superstar tight end Rob Gronkowski, 35, had thrown a similar tantrum.

And the former wide receiver – a three-time Super Bowl champion with the Pats – insisted that Gronk would not have dared to challenge his coach like that.

“Nobody’s touching Bill,” Edelman said on the Games with Names podcast.

“With the respect he demanded on a daily basis, like when he entered the auditorium, people stood up, their shoulders were back, their ears were pricked.

“That’s the kind of presence he has.”

Edelman played alongside Gronk for nine seasons and added that while the tight end was a formidable competitor, he wasn’t the type of person who would yell at a coach.

Reid, 66, is also respected by his players but has a more approachable management style.

Meanwhile, Belichick had complete control of the Patriots organization and didn’t like being questioned.

“They have a different relationship,” Edelman added.

“They’re a lot closer. He’s an offensive coach with an offensive player, so their dynamic is a lot different than what Belichick had with Gronkowski.”

Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes tries, and fails, to keep fellow NFL superstar Travis Kelce under control in a hilarious video that went viral last week.

The Chiefs posted a clip of their quarterback speaking to a referee before the game.

“Yeah, I’m going to keep Kelce under control this week,” Mahomes says on video.

‘Don’t do your job’

Bill Belichick is known for telling his former New England Patriots players to ‘do their job.’

But he took aim at Rob Gronkowski during the attack on Tom Brady.

“You know, a lot of people associate me with a saying called, ‘Do your job.’ And tell people to do their jobs,” Belichick said.

“Gronk, I’ve been watching Fox NFL Sunday and I’m begging you – stop doing your job.

“Do another job. Do someone else’s job!”

The video then cuts to Kelce running down the sideline screaming as her teammate Mecole Hardman makes a play.

Another clip shows tight end Kelce barking at a pile of players at the end of another play.

Finally, he is shown laughing and yelling, “Let’s go” after scoring a TD on the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Chiefs won the game 31-17 thanks to stellar performances from Kelce and Mahomes.

Reid is in the running for a historic Super Bowl run next season with Mahomes and Kelce, who signed two-year extensions, by his side.
