NFL icon JJ Watt looks like he’s still in good football form two years after retiring.
The defensive end played 12 seasons with the Houston Texans and Arizona Cardinals, winning three Defensive Player of the Year awards.
Watt, 35, still works out regularly and has shown off his enviable physique on Instagram.
After posting a photo of some weights to his Stories, he added a topless photo with the caption “progress.”
Watt has joined The NFL Today as a commentator since hanging up his cleats in 2022.
But he told Texas coach DeMeco Ryans that he would return to the field if necessary.
“I told DeMeco last year, ‘Don’t call unless you absolutely have to, but if you call, I’ll be there,” Watt said.
“And he knows not to call unless it’s absolutely necessary.”
Former quarterback Matt Ryan will join James Brown, Nate Burleson, Bill Cowher and Watt on CBS next season.
“Matt has had an outstanding first year at CBS Sports, excelling as both a studio and game analyst,” said CBS Sports President and CEO David Berson.

“He is a consummate team player and a Hall of Famer.
“We love the chemistry he has with the studio team and are excited to see him entertain NFL fans and share his passion, vision and perspective alongside JB, Nate, Coach and JJ.”
Watt also became interested in football after becoming co-owner of English second division team Burnley.
“I can’t explain how deeply in love I am with [the project at Burnley]”, Watt told Stick to the football podcast.
“I knew I would, but I didn’t realize at this level, how much I would care and love interacting with these people.
“Even when I’m not [in the UK]and I’m in Arizona, waking up at 4am for a game – it’s really all taken care of.
“My son is only 18 months old, but he yells at the TV because his dad threw a coffee mug across the room.”
Burnley were promoted to the Premier League shortly after Watt announced his investment in the team.
“Last year we won the championship about two months after I joined [at Burnley]and Alan [Pace]our majority owner, looks at me and says, ‘You carry the trophy onto the field,'” he continued.
“I thought, ‘Alan, these people are going to boo me off the field! I’m the student who showed up to the project without doing anything!’
“But it was the coolest day [winning the league]. We did the bus parade and everything.
“Knowing about this day, and always keeping that in mind, that’s the only thing I want to give back to these people — what that feels like.”
Burnley have since been relegated to the Championship, but Watt is determined to fight back.
