NFL star Patrick Mahomes discussed how his relationship with pop sensation Taylor Swift grew last season.
Swift became a regular fixture at Kansas City Chiefs games during their final Super Bowl season as her relationship with tight end Travis Kelce blossomed.
The couple went public in September and her frequent appearances at games in support of her boyfriend have seen the team’s fan base swell with Swifties.
As Kelce and Swift’s relationship grew, so did her relationships with those close to him, including quarterback Mahomes and his wife Brittany — with whom she regularly shared a suite at games.
In a recent interview with Timewhich named Mahomes as one of the 100 most influential people, he spoke about his relationship with singer Cruel Summer.
“I’ve met a lot of famous people in my life,” he admitted.
“Taylor is probably the most down-to-earth person to have been on that stage in a long time.”
Mahomes noted how he realized Swift “never stops working.”
“Even when she is resting, she is working on something.
“Record a music video, sing or write a song. You can see this in the way she talks.

“Even when she’s talking about football, when she’s learning, you can see her business mind putting it all together.
“It’s almost like she’s trying to become a coach. ‘Why can’t you try this, this and this?’ She’s asking the right questions.”
Not that football was new to Swift, who had previously admitted to being a Philadelphia Eagles fan.
In fact, she even met Chiefs coach Andy Reid during her tenure in Philadelphia.
Fast forward to 2024, Mahomes noted how the Chiefs quickly went from being “a national team that was kind of global to a full-fledged world team.”
“That came from Taylor’s fan base.”
And despite rumors to the contrary, this added attention was far from a distraction inside Arrowhead Stadium – something Reid has also emphasized previously.
Instead, Mahomes said they “embraced” the attention.
“We like having that visibility,” he said.
“At the end of the day, football has always been a hard-hitting sport.
“We want it to be fun, where kids grow up, play football, show their personality and be who they are.
Taylor is probably the most down-to-earth person to have been on that stage for so long.

“This year has really magnified that.”
Swift’s presence not only brought more attention to the NFL, but also greatly impacted the size of the league’s purse.
In February, following the Chiefs’ victory in Super Bowl LVIII, the president of Los Angeles-based public relations firm Reputation Management Consultants, Eric Schiffer, estimated that their involvement in the Super Bowl would be worth about a billion dollars to the NFL .
Schiffer explained to The US Sun that this happened “because it will make Gen Z, Millennial and Gen X women tune in and watch longer.”
Ultimately, an average of 123.4 million people tuned in to CBS nationwide for the Super Bowl — a new record for the title game.
