TOM Brady’s bid to buy a stake in the Las Vegas Raiders was boosted by a former teammate.

New England Patriots icon and Hall of Famer Richard Seymour is reportedly close to becoming an owner and limited partner in the franchise.

A source close to the negotiations told NBC that Seymour will join forces with Brady to acquire a 10.4% stake together with their partners.

In order for Brady, 46, to become a stakeholder in the Raiders, 24 of the NFL’s 32 team owners must approve the deal.

The NFL’s finance committee expressed concerns about certain financial elements of the offer.

Questions have also been raised surrounding Brady serving as an analyst for Fox Sports.

The NFL icon has been in talks about buying a stake since last May.

Seymour, 44, was drafted sixth overall by the Patriots in 2001.

He won three Super Bowls in New England before being traded to the Raiders in 2009.

The defensive standout was a two-time Pro Bowler in four seasons with the Raiders.

Collinsworth retired from the NFL in 1988 and has since spent more than three decades working in broadcasting.

The 65-year-old joined Kay Adams on her show Up & Adams to discuss Brady’s move into the booth.

“Tom is a great guy. He will be brilliant,” he said.

“I mean, our whole lives we’ve tried to anticipate what Tom Brady was thinking when he got to the line of scrimmage, and God is right, and now we’re going to listen.

“He’s studying hard. He’s working on it.”

Rob Gronkowski says Brady’s greatness is due to consistency.

“You don’t really see that anymore in this generation, he really practices what he preaches,” Gronk told former teammate Julian Edelman in Name Games podcast.

“There is no if or but about Tom Brady being Tom Brady.

“What he divulges, what he preaches, he practices

“There’s no doubt about it. There’s a lot of people out there on social media, or at a talk, they’re reminiscing, ‘This is what you need to do to be great, this is what you need to do to be successful.’

“Well, Tom Brady does what he says on a daily basis.

“He takes care of his body, he takes care of his mind, he competes and that’s what makes him so good.”
