Mahomes and the Chiefs have their sights set on history this season, looking for a historic three-peat.

The 28-year-old player joined the Riggles’ Choices Podcast to preview the next season on Wednesday.

Rees-Zammit joined Chiefs in March following a surprise move from rugby union.

Former Welsh international, the sprinter signed a three-year, $2,850,000 contract with Arrowhead.

Mahomes was surprised by how quickly Rees-Zammit adapted to football.

And the three-time Super Bowl champion revealed he could be the rookie to watch next season.

“He’s been playing running back, as well as a lot of special teams,” Mahomes revealed.

“He can catch it – it looks different, he catches it like a rugby ball. But he never drops it.

“I know who to choose in the costume now…” laughed another.

“I’ve been saying this since before the combine. He is a player to watch,” commented a third.

“Pat likes him. She already calls him ‘my boy”, added a fourth.

The Welshman – nicknamed Rees Lightning – previously played as a winger for Gloucester in the English Premiership.

He won 32 caps for his country before making the surprise decision to join the NFL earlier this year.

“I imagine a new challenge and what better challenge than being in the NFL,” said Rees-Zammit CNN.

“I’ve been training really hard for seven or eight weeks and I think I’m in a good position.

“I feel calm, comfortable and I’m ready to show everyone what I can do.”
