Travis Kelce tells fans ‘you’re not lying’ in response to Taylor Swift dig after Chiefs star botched swing at golf event

KANSAS City Chiefs star Travis Kelce had the perfect response to a fan who made a joke about Taylor Swift after a bad shot at the 2024 American Century Championship golf tournament.

The NFL tight end attended the charity event, which took place in Lake Tahoe between July 10 and 14, along with his brother Jason.

Kelce, 34, is an avid golfer and has participated in the American Century Championship (ACC) for several years.

But the nine-time Pro Bowler showed that football remains his main sport after a bad first shot on Saturday.

When the ball didn’t go as he intended, a spectator took a swing at the Chiefs tight end.

“It’s okay, you still have Taylor,” said the fan, caught by NBC Sports.

Travis took the joke well.

“You’re not lying,” he replied as he pointed to the crowd.

The three-time Super Bowl champion then dismissed the spectators gathered around.

Swift, 34, also appeared in Kelce’s interview with NBC.

The Chiefs star was asked if he planned to make another on-stage cameo during the pop sensation’s Eras Tour.

“I can’t let anything come out of the bag,” he replied.

“But now I’m in full football mode after golf.”

Travis said he’s really enjoying the past 12 months, as he began his relationship with Swift and added another championship ring to that collection.

“It was the funniest year of my life, I can say that for sure,” he said.

“I said this after the [2023] Super Bowl when I played against my brother – meeting my brother at the top of the mountain was the highlight of my life.

‘Personal life well commented’

Travis Kelce was asked about his relationship with Taylor Swift during an interview with Good Morning America.

But the Kansas City Chiefs tight end gave a cautious response.

“When you have good family and friends around you, that aspect of life becomes so much easier,” Kelce told GMA.

“I’ve always been a very grounded guy. Maybe it’s not like that when I’m playing football.

“But off the field, I just want to be a genuine person. I try not to go too far.

“Because you never know what opportunities are going to present themselves.”

“And it’s gone up and up from there.

“And who knows, man? Who knows where this thing will go if I get the chance to win another one?

Kelce won a karaoke competition before the ACC tournament began.

He sang a version of Whitesnake’s Here I Go Again, receiving a huge ovation.

And the Chiefs icon dedicated his win to Swift.

“Taylor, this is for you!” he shouted after being named the winner.
