PATRICK Mahomes’ wife Randi says her son’s Kansas City Chiefs teammate Travis Kelce has an adorable nickname for her.
Randi Mahomes, 51, gave a glimpse into the family atmosphere at Arrowhead Stadium as she appeared on the red carpet at the 2024 ESPY Awards on Thursday.
Randi told People that she ran into Kelce, 34, at dinner the day before the gala.
She then revealed that the Chiefs tight end calls her “Mama Mahomes” — doing so “every time” the two meet.
“And he’s a ball of energy,” Ms. Mahomes added.
Randi said the Chiefs are a tight-knit group.
“It almost feels like a little family, you know. I love it,” she said.
“I love meeting Chiefs players because you can’t always meet them all.”
Not long ago, Randi opened up about the less wholesome side of football, discussing the amount of hate her son receives on social media.
Mahomes said she was shocked to find numerous hateful messages following one of Kansas City’s previous Super Bowl victories.

“I looked and someone hated me so much for me and my children, all three of them,” she said.
“And I looked at their social media and thought… this is a beautiful American family.
“Why would this mother or father say that?”
Randi added, “I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy.”
“I said I don’t wish that on anyone because as a mother you don’t want to read or see things about your children.
“Especially when you know it’s not true.”
Patrick, 28, won the Best Male Sports Athlete award at this year’s ESPYs, taking victory for the second time in a row.
He was not present to accept the honor, with Chiefs coach Andy Reid appearing on stage at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, California, on his behalf.
And he had many kind words to say about his star player.
“Listen, I’m honored to be here to accept this award for Patrick,” Reid said.
“I’ve been with this kid for two years and watching him grow as a football player, as a teammate and as a leader has been phenomenal.”
Mahomes initially asked Kelce to accept the award, but the Chiefs tight end politely declined the request so he wouldn’t seem like “a sucker for attention,” The US Sun reported.
Kelce spent most of the week in Lake Tahoe, playing golf in the 2024 American Century Championship charity tournament.
