The Hall of Fame wide receiver played alongside Burleson, 42, in Detroit from 2010-2013.

Nate teamed up with former GMFB colleague Adams show, which was filmed at Johnson’s charity golf day to congratulate his old friend.

“Congratulations, man. This is awesome, we knew this would happen because of the legacy you left on the field,” he said, wearing a Lions cap.

“It was an honor playing with you and I love seeing you get your flowers, man. Because you are a living legend.

“I can’t wait to celebrate with you in person, we can have a few drinks, smoke some primal and party like old times.

“But enjoy it, take it all in, this is what you worked for. Right now here.

“Why do you guys keep doing this to me, I told you I don’t like surprises,” said an emotional Johnson.

“I love you man, I can’t wait until we go out.

The star receiver, nicknamed Megatron, was named a first-team All-Pro three times and Pro Bowler six times during his nine-year career.

Appearing on FanDuel TV’s Up And Adams in April, Johnson was asked if he could remember which players he compared himself to when asked before being drafted.

“I don’t remember exactly what I said,” Johnson admitted.

“But I know at the time how I looked at guys and how I wanted to put different pieces from everyone’s game into my game.

“So I was looking at Randy [Moss]. I want to make plays like Randy.

“Do you want to be as durable as [Terrell Owens]. You want to be consistent like a Marvin Harrison. You wanted to be a brawler like Hines Ward.

“And try to put all these things in one package.”

Adams loved this response, commenting, “And that’s how Megatron you are!”

As for his draft night experience, Johnson admitted, “I thought I was going to stay home.

“I thought I was going to Atlanta. I thought I was going to Tampa.

“The last place I thought I would end up was Detroit.”
