Legendary NFL coach Bill Belichick is being criticized for his move into TV commentary.
Andrew Perloff of The Maggie and Perloff Show on Sirius XM is vehemently against Belichick’s transition into sports media.
Perloff labeled Belichick a hypocrite for “joining the NFL media machine.”
During this offseason, Belichick joined ESPN to be a part of The Pat McAfee Show and The Manningcast.
He has also signed on to the CW for a new version of Inside the NFL.
This all happened after he parted ways with the New England Patriots after two decades as head coach and was not hired by any other team.

During his coaching career, Belichick was known for being quite dismissive of the media, and Perloff seemed upset about joining the media after that.
“The networks need to stop hiring Bill Belichick,” Perloff wrote on AthlonSports. with.
“Someone who openly mocked the media for two decades as head coach of the New England Patriots should not be able to walk in and get multiple media jobs.
“He never said anything useful as an NFL coach and now he’s going to get a paid lecture? As brilliant as Belichick is, find someone else.”

Perloff clarified that being a good media presence is not a prerequisite for appearing on TV, but still expressed displeasure with the fact that Belichick was hired by the networks.
“Belichick showing disdain for the very existence of the media and grumbling at every media session is too much to ignore,” he wrote.
The radio host cited a 2014 press conference where Belichick responded, “We’re in Cincinnati,” after every question, a stunt many fans loved.
Perloff admitted that people will tune in to hear Belichick, but insisted he didn’t like it.
“Of course, Belichick’s vision has gravity,” Perloff wrote.
“Just don’t pretend the last 20 years have been a mirage and he’s so eager to teach us about the game.
