McAfee asked his fellow analysts on Wednesday’s show for their Super Bowl predictions ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Ty Schmit stated that the Kansas City Chiefs would win the third game, defeating the Green Bay Packers in the final.

But Connor took a different path, saying he believed the Jets would face the Detroit Lions in next February’s matchup.

And he had a bold prediction for Rodgers when the four-time MVP returns from Achilles surgery.

“I’m going to go ahead and take the league MVP,” Connor he said.

“New York Jets and Aaron Rodgers defeating the Detroit Lions.”

“In the Super Bowl?!” spluttered McAfee in response.

Connor responded that his prediction would only hold true if the Jets’ talented roster could “stay healthy.”

“Mike Williams, Garret Wilson, Breese Hall,” he continued.

“They reloaded their entire offensive line. Everyone thinks Rodgers is just a big, dumb hippie.

‘Open your mind,’ NFL source says in offering cryptic explanation for Aaron Rodgers’ absence from New York Jets minicamp

“In fact, he’s the greatest rusher in NFL history.

“I really think he’ll win the MVP and they’ll find out.”

Connor said the Jets had “one of the best defenses in the NFL.”

“Hell yes! @BostonConnr,” one fan responded on X.

“The smartest thing Boston ever said,” laughed another.

Pat McAfee’s Playing Days

Pat McAfee had a hugely successful period before switching to a career in media.

The talk show star served as a punter in the NFL for eight seasons from 2009 to 2016.

He was a seventh-round pick in the 2009 NFL Draft out of West Virginia and spent his entire career with the Indianapolis Colts.

The former punter was named to the Pro Bowl in 2014 and 2016, and was also a first-team All-Pro in 2014.

McAfee holds the NFL’s single record for highest career net punting yardage average at 41.4 yards, while his longest punt of all time was 74.

“I’m not sure you guys are thinking enough about special teams. Think about how close most games are in the NFL, with the new starting rules, this could seriously change the hierarchy in the NFL,” countered a third.

Rodgers, 40, played just one rushing game last season after joining the Jets from the Packers.

He underwent surgery on an Achilles tear suffered in Week 1.

The ten-time Pro Bowler won a Super Bowl in 2010 and led the NFL in passer rating four times.

But he has already generated controversy this offseason after missing minicamp.

The Jets begin their 2024 challenge against the San Francisco 49ers on September 9.

New York has never won a Super Bowl title and last appeared in the finals in 1969.
