FORMER Pro Bowler Randall Cobb is embarking on a new career.

Having recently played for the New York Jets in 2023, the 33-year-old Cobb is expected to trade in cleats for a microphone.

ESPN announced on Thursday that the former Green Bay Packers wide receiver will join the SEC Network in 2024.

Cobb will serve as a studio analyst, appearing on SEC Now throughout the fall.

Along with this, Cobb will also co-host Out of Pocket presented by Academy Sports + Outdoors with Alyssa Lang.

“I am extremely excited to return home to the SEC in this new role,” Cobb said in a statement. Press release.

He made his on-air debut Thursday during SEC Now’s coverage of the 2024 Kickoff Media Day.

The news of Cobb’s addition went down a storm among X fans.

“I loved it! Great addition!” said one spectator.

Cobb later added Xpossibly in response to suggestions that he had retired from the NFL, “I haven’t officially retired, but I’m excited about this new opportunity!”

His announcement that the door remains open for a new NFL gig comes as training camps across the country begin.

Cobb spent last season as a member of the Jets reuniting him with his longtime teammate and close friend from the Packers Aaron Rodgers.

However, Rodgers’ season-ending injury in Week 1 meant that Cobb spent the season playing alongside quarterbacks Zach Wilson, Trevor Siemian and Tim Boyle.

In 11 games, one of which he started, Cobb finished with just 39 yards and one touchdown.

Originally drafted by the Packers 64th overall out of Kentucky in 2011, Cobb spent 10 seasons in two stints in Green Bay.

He also suited up for the Houston Texans and Dallas Cowboys.

Cobb’s best season came in 2014, when he racked up 1,287 yards and 12 touchdowns.

To date, Cobb has accumulated 7,624 yards and 54 scores in 166 games.
