NFL analyst Dan Orlovsky accepted a surprise role at ESPN.

Former Detroit Lions quarterback will call a sport for the network, and it won’t be soccer.

On Saturday, Orlovsky will call lacrosse for ESPN.

He will comment Premier League Lacrosse game between the New York Atlas and the Boston Cannons.

Orlovsky will be joined by ESPN’s Paul Carcaterra in the booth.

The 40-year-old did not play lacrosse in high school or college.

Orlovsky has previously revealed his love for the sport of lacrosse.

When he’s not appearing on ESPN programming, the NFL analyst coaches lacrosse for his children.

Orlovsky spends time coaching his son’s lacrosse teams.

Fans revealed their excitement about Orlovsky being a lacrosse guest commentator game on X.

The 2024 Premier League Lacrosse season kicked off in early June.

The league debuted in 2019 and is made up of eight teams.

As for Orlovsky, he played 12 seasons in the NFL after playing college football for the UConn Huskies.

He retired from the league in 2017.

A year later, Orlovsky joined ESPN as an analyst.

In 2022, he joined the network’s #2 NFL broadcast team.

Since arriving at ESPN, Orlovsky has been a star on NFL Live, First Take, Get Up!, among others.
