Burruss is one of two new faces at GMFB alongside former NFL defensive end Akbar Gbajabiamila.

“When you think of NFL Network, you think of Good Morning Football,” she told USA Today.

“So being able to take part in this iconic show is one of those ‘pinch me moments’ and a professional highlight for me.”

The move marks the latest step in Burruss’ rapidly rising career in sports media.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison graduate began her career at KMIZ-TV in Columbia, Missouri, where she focused on the Missouri Tigers.

She then moved to WGCL-TV in Atlanta, where she covered the Braves’ final season at Turner Field and the Hawks’ 2016 playoffs.

Burruss then joined WRC-TV (NBC News 4) in Washington DC in 2016, where she worked as a sports reporter and anchor.

In 2020, she went national by landing the role of anchor and reporter on CBS Sports HQ, CBS’s 24-hour sports news network.

“I had a wonderful three years in DC,” Burruss told the Washington Post.

“You really can’t complain when you have two championship parades and the Mystics winning, but growing up, in my heart of hearts, I always wanted to work on a national network.

“I will be doing some reporting and some presentations. It’s just the culmination of everything I’ve worked on at News 4, on a bigger stage.

“They’ve done a really good job of preparing for what’s next.”

Burruss spent most of his time covering college football and college basketball for CBS Sports.

She also spent two seasons as an NFL sideline reporter at CBS.

The new dawn of GMFB

The relaunch and return of Good Morning Football on July 29 was confirmed by NFL Network to coincide with training camp.

The morning show went off the air in March before a big change and move to Los Angeles.

Jamie Erdahl moved from New York cross-country to continue leading the show.

Her former partners Kyle Brandt and Peter Schrager will join her, but will split their time between New York and Los Angeles.

Sherree Burruss and Akbar Gbajabiamila have been confirmed as new additions to the revamped show.

In February 2023, Burruss moved to NFL Media joining NFL Network as an on-air reporter.

And she quite impressed her bosses at NFL Media by landing her move to GMFB.

Burruss is expected to move to Los Angeles with her husband and young daughter.

“I love you always and forever DC!”, she posted on social media.

“I am very grateful for the time I make available to bring reports from Commanders and Ravens.

“I made amazing friends and have great memories! I’m so excited for this new chapter to continue bringing you news from across the NFL!

“Can’t wait for @GMFB!”
