NFL fans were surprised by New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr’s belief about a current teammate.
Four-time Pro Bowler Carr appeared on the hit Barstool Sports podcast Pardon My Take and shared a surprise opinion.
During your appearanceCarr talked about Taysom Hill, who is a former BYU quarterback and played multiple positions on offense with the Saints.
The 33-year-old played alongside Hill for one season and described him as “the best soccer player I ever played with” and added: “he’s the nicest person in the world.”
NFL fans were surprised by Carr’s strong statement about the versatile Hill.
“Derek doesn’t know ball,” commented one of them.
“Oh my God seriously?” another asked.
“Jack of all trades, master of none… no thanks,” asked a third.
Carr’s statement about Hill doesn’t hold water, as he played with superior players like Pro Bowlers Maxx Crosby, Davante Adams, Josh Jacobs, among others.
Still, Carr shared that Hill’s multidimensional abilities make him unique.

“He can do anything,” he said. “He throws, he runs, he catches. [He plays] fullback, quarterback, tight end, receiver, slot, block punts, personal protector. Just because of how the statistics work, I don’t know how they will work, but this man is a Hall of Fame football player.”
Carr then brought up a case that showed him that Hill could be an NFL Hall of Famer in the future.
“Last year, [our offensive coordinator] it was like ‘Bro, when Taysom runs the football, he sees red. So I know you’re on edge, probably wide open. He’s not going to see you.’” Carr continued.
“So we’re playing Carolina. I think it was Monday Night Football.
“We’re on the five-yard line and he throws a goalie right at me… I’m open in the endzone and I look at Taysom’s face, and for the nicest person in the world, I looked at him as the most violent, angry [person].
“He just stuck his head between three guys and pretty much blew them all away.
“I thought, man, that was the most violent and impressive thing I’ve ever seen.”
Hill will enter his eighth season with the Saints.
During his career, he recorded over 2,300 passing yards, around 2,200 rushing yards, over 750 receiving yards, over 400 return yards, 38 total touchdowns, and as many as 16 career tackles.
