NFL host Kay Adams predicted that four quarterbacks will be taken with the first four overall picks during the 2024 NFL Draft.
The sportscaster also expressed her fascination with the Washington Commanders’ “Bachelor-style” strategy in their pre-draft selection while discussing the event on Thursday’s Up & Adams.
The 2024 draft class is loaded with talented young quarterbacks, including Caleb Williams, Jayden McDaniels, Drake Maye, JJ McCarthy and Michael Penix Jr.
It seems inevitable that the Chicago Bears, owners of the No. 1 overall pick, will select Williams, the former LSU standout and 2022 Heisman Trophy winner.
The second-seeded Commanders are also expected to draft a quarterback.
From that point on, things get a little darker with the New England Patriots and Arizona Cardinals scheduled to be up next.
Adams, 38, pointed out that the amount of talent at quarterback could lead to some big trades next week.
She noted that Patriots scouting director Eliot Wolfe, who is the de facto general manager, said the team is open to shopping its No. 3 pick but would also feel comfortable drafting a QB.
Adams said the Cardinals — who are expected to pick fourth — “are the wild card,” with the NFL host emphasizing the massive potential Arizona could gain with its pick.
She added that the Minnesota Vikings, Denver Broncos, Las Vegas Raiders and even the New York Giants could be looking to trade so they can draft their new franchise quarterback.

One way or another, the Up & Adams host said, all signs point to four quarterbacks coming off the board early in the first round.
“I really think we’re going to see four quarterbacks taken in the top four picks for the first time in NFL history.”
“That never happened, guys.”
‘DATING GAME’
At the same time, Adams said she was mesmerized by the Commanders’ unorthodox approach to the pre-recruitment process.
Under new leadership, Washington took advantage of the 30 in-house visits each team has to host more than 20 prospects at a time, with a group outing to Top Golf earlier this week.
Among the visitors were McDaniels, Maye, McCarthy and Penix.
“Why are we doing this Bachelor thing… Like, who gets the rose? Who gets the date? Who’s going to the fantasy suite? Who’s going to advance?” Adams said.
“It’s an interesting approach to take. Is it like a dating game – having everyone there as a way to see players interact?
“It’s this new way of thinking, of course, with the new leadership and the new way of dealing with what’s happening with the Commanders.
“I’m obsessed with it, why do it this way? Why haven’t we always done it this way? Isn’t it more efficient?
“You get your time, you know, it’s a controlled situation where the front office and the decision makers are all feeling the same way on that particular day.
“So it’s like an experiment. I don’t know why more people don’t do this. Why haven’t we been doing this all along?
“But that was an interesting little wrinkle.”
The 2024 NFL Draft takes place in Detroit, Michigan, April 25-27.
