NFL icon Travis Kelce admits the grind of playing football is starting to take a toll on his body.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end spent the summer following superstar girlfriend Taylor Swift around Europe.
He is now back in camp as the Chiefs aim for a historic treble.
But Kelce, who turns 35 in October, says preparation gets harder as she gets older.
“Last year was very taxing on my body,” he said after training yesterday.
“I’ve had more snaps than most, if not all, guys in the NFL in the last five, six years, and I’m really proud of that, but I know it’s taken a toll on my body.
“So it’s just making sure my body has rest and the ability to train harder and be able to withstand a full 17-20 game season.”
The Chiefs landed two tight ends before the season.
Fourth-round rookie Jared Wiley and free agent Irv Smith join starters Kelce and Noah Gray in the room.
But Kelce doesn’t plan on handing over the reins just yet.

“This is my sanctuary,” he added.
“St. Joe, 12th year. That means I’ve spent almost an entire year of my life here in the dorms.
“Everyone can say it’s very tiring, but I like it.
“There’s something about this place to get you ready every year, and I’m not going to lie, I was really excited when the clock started ticking to get here and make it happen.
“This is where it all starts. You can say it starts in the offseason, and yes, you want to establish that foundation in the offseason of leadership and mentality and things like that.
“But at the end of the day, this is where you really find out what the team is made of, how you sharpen the iron, how your guys practice their training habits, the attention to detail, and no one does that better than the coach. [Andy] Reid.”
Kelce has an established routine — including her own personal trainers.
Travis Kelce, actor
NFL star Travis Kelce has apparently landed his first major acting role.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end plans to become a “heavy” figure in music and entertainment.
Kelce saw her star power rise after going public with her girlfriend Taylor Swift last summer.
The 34-year-old has already been cast in the new horror series Grotesquerie.
Directed by American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy, the drama is set to arrive on FX this fall.
Kelce will appear on the show alongside Niecy Nash-Betts, Courtney B. Vance and Lesley Manville.
On Tuesday, Nash-Betts appeared to confirm Kelce’s involvement with a surprise reveal on Instagram.
“This is what happens when WINNERS come together,” she captioned a clip featuring Kelce in a backstage dressing room.
“I have guys all over the place,” he revealed.
“Each season you find ways to improve what works for you, [eliminate] which doesn’t work, and you just want to increase it every year to keep finding ways to climb the ladder of success.
“I would say I’m doing some things differently, but nothing really in the grand scheme of things. Just putting my nose to the grinder.”
Kelce should have plenty to keep him busy when he hangs up his cleats.
The Chiefs star has a successful podcast with his brother Jason, many business ventures and a potential acting career.
Jason, 36, retired from football at the end of last season.
