Swoopes discussed the WNBA Rookie of the Year race between Clark and Angel Reese on her own Queens of the Court podcast last week.

The three-time MVP chose Reese of the Chicago Sky as her pick to win the gong.

“I love her, but she’s wrong here,” Duncan said of Swoopes’ opinion, per The Daily Mail.

“She had some thoughts. She already had some thoughts about Caitlin.

“This just doesn’t feel right and it’s starting to feel a little like Sheryl-hate, that just in this specific space, stop.”

Duncan also claimed that Swoopes said, “[Fever forward] Katie Lou Samuelson is actually more integral in terms of two-way ability than Caitlin [Clark]”for the fever.

Duncan took to social media on Friday, the day after the podcast’s release, to admit that he hadn’t listened to the full show, which Swoopes recorded with freelance writer Jordan Robinson.

“I did what you weren’t supposed to do,” Duncan wrote in an X statement.

“I reacted to Sherly Swoopes’ comments about Caitlin Clark based on quotes made to me by the producers in the recap.

“I should have LISTENED to the show.”

Duncan stated that she “rushed” the segment and “wasn’t [the] producer’s fault.”

“The same thing I begged CC’s fans to do when they were attacking me a few months ago, ‘hating her,’” she continued.

“I hate that I sent more criticism her way and I’m saying a BIG L!

“I texted Sherly the same thing. I’ll do better! I’m sorry.”

‘A little more motivation’

Caitlin Clark insists her Paris 2024 snub has left her even hungrier and more determined to achieve her Olympic dream.

The rookie WNBA sensation was left off the roster for this summer’s Olympics, a shock to many.

“I think it just gives you something to work towards,” Clark said.

“It’s a dream, I hope one day I can be there. I think it’s just a little more motivation.

“You remember that. Hopefully when it comes back four years, I can be there. I’m excited for the girls that are on the team.

“I know it’s the most competitive team in the world and I know it could have gone either way with me being on the team or not being on the team.

“I’m excited for them and I’m going to root for them to win the gold.”

Swoopes was “complimentary towards Clark on several occasions” during the podcast, according to the New York Post Office.

“Caitlin, her passing, her assists — crazy,” the former WNBA star said.

“His ability to see the floor and put the ball where it needs to be is beautiful.”

Robinson also took to social media to defend his co-host.

“There’s a lot of weirdness going on in our latest episode of Queens of the Court. Let’s provide some context, shall we?” Robinson wrote in X.

“You will never find @airswoopes22 saying Katie Lou is a more valuable player than Caitlin Clark.

“You will hear us both declare our OPINIONS about our [Rookie of the Year] cases and the general lineups for Fever and Sky. We also very much agree.”
