NFL superstar Justin Jefferson admitted he’s scared he’ll miss more time next season due to injury.

Jefferson is widely considered one of the NFL’s elite receivers.

The former first-round pick won the league’s 2022 Offensive Player of the Season award.

Despite only starting 9 games last campaign, he extended his remarkable 1,000-yard receiving streak to the fourth consecutive season.

In the process, Jefferson set an NFL record for most receiving yards in a player’s first four seasons.

But the hamstring injury, suffered in Week 5 against the Kansas City Chiefs, scared the former LSU player.

“I’m so scared it’s going to happen again,” he admitted to reporters at training camp, via ESPN.

“I’ve been overly cautious about this.”

Jefferson had Wednesday off to take care of his body before the big kickoff.

It’s a far cry from his usual preseason workload, where the 25-year-old has already played every snap.

“I’m just trying to take care of my body the right way,” he continued.

“[I’m] trying to find new paths and new things that I can implement in my day-to-day life that will help me better throughout the season.

“I’ve definitely been working on my hamstrings a little more and making sure I’m injury-proof.”

Jefferson signed a massive four-year, $140 million contract extension with the Vikings in June.

The move will see him stay with the Vikings through the 2028 season and make him the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL.

Jefferson is eager to repay Minnesota for its loyalty.

And he believes his injury concerns will ease when he suits up for Game 1 against the Las Vegas Raiders next month.

“I’ll get to the point where I feel like I won’t think about it again,” he continued.

“Because I’m going to push it to a place where it’s strong enough so it won’t happen again.

“It’s all about being confident in that and I can go out there and play freely.”
