Live TV viewers of the PGA Championship were shocked after Golf Channel aired no coverage of Scottie Scheffler’s arrest.

Scheffler was handcuffed in the back of a police car outside the Valhalla Golf Club after trying to get around a fatal car collision, for ESPN’s Jeff Darlington.
Reporter Darlington was live at the scene and covering the ongoing story.
However, Golf Channel was showing a replay of the first round of the LPGA Mizuho Americas Open.
Darlington has appeared on several ESPN programs including SportsCenter, Get Up and ESPN+ to discuss Scheffler and his situation.

Scheffler broke his silence following his arrest on his Instagram Story.
“This morning, I was proceeding as directed by the police officers,” he wrote. It was a very chaotic situation, which is understandable considering the tragic accident that had occurred earlier, and there was a huge misunderstanding about what I thought I was being asked for. to do.
“I never intended to disregard any of the instructions. I’m hoping to put that aside and focus on golf today.
“Of course, all of us involved in the tournament express our deepest condolences to the family of the man who passed away in this morning’s accident. This really puts everything into perspective.”
Scheffler played the second round at Valhalla and shot five shots outside the lead at -5.
Xander Schauffele led the field after Day 1, posting a -9 round 62.
Two-time Masters champion Scheffler has 10 PGA Tour victories.
He finished second at the USPGA last year.
