GRAYSON Murray died aged 30 after withdrawing from the Charles Schwab Challenge.
The PGA Tour announced in a statement that Murray died on Saturday morning after withdrawing from competition on Friday.
He cited illness as his reason for leaving the competition. No cause of death has been released at this time.
Tributes from the golf community have already been received for the young player.
“We were devastated to learn – and heartbroken to share – that PGA TOUR player Grayson Murray passed away this morning. I’m speechless,” said PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan.
“Her life was moving in such a positive direction that included an increase in her faith and an engagement to get married. My heart goes out to your family,” he said. he wrote Golf Channel and NBC reporter Todd Lewis on X, formerly Twitter.
