Murray was candid about his struggle with depression, anxiety and alcoholism before his death, but said he was in a better place in January.

“I have a beautiful fiancee. I have beautiful parents. I have beautiful nephews and brothers,” he said.

“Everyone in my life right now, who is close to me, who has been through hardships with me, it’s all a team effort.

“I’m not sitting here – I’m sitting here alone, but they’re all part of it.”

The golfer died aged 30 and proposed to his wife Christiana Ritchie in December 2023.

The pair bonded over their religion and love of golf after meeting at the 2021 American Express tournament.

“That’s what’s going to be first in our relationship going forward.”

The couple was last seen in public at the Masters, where Ritchie was her fiancé’s caddy.

“It’s surreal that not only do we have to admit this to ourselves, but we also have to acknowledge it to the world.

“We have so many questions that have no answers. But one. Was Grayson loved?

“The answer is yes. For us, for his brother Cameron, for his sister Erica, for his entire family, for his friends, for his fellow players and – it seems – for many of you reading this,” they continued .

“We would like to thank the PGA Tour and the entire golf world for their outpouring of support.

“Life wasn’t always easy for Grayson, and although he took his own life, we know he rests in peace now.”
