TIGER WOODS will be coached at the US Open by his 15-year-old son, Charlie.
Woods, 48, is in Pinehurst with the third major of the year set to begin tomorrow.
His son Charlie participated in his first US Open qualifying event in April.
But despite being away, the teenager will still play an important role in assisting his old man at Pinehurst.
Charlie was spotted on the course with his dad this week, having been named his swing coach.
Discussing his son’s position, Woods said, “As far as his responsibilities go, it’s the same [as those of a coach].
“I trust him with my swing and my game. He saw this more than anyone else in the world.
“He’s seen me hit more golf balls than anyone.
”I tell him what to look for, especially when it comes to putting.
“He gave me some little details today, which was great because I get so ingrained in hitting certain shots at certain pins that I tend to forget some of the things I’m working on.”

Having suffered injuries in recent years, Woods is relishing the opportunity to share this quality time with his son.
The 15-time major champion said: “I think having Charlie here is really special.
“We have a great relationship and harmony, and it’s a wonderful experience for both of us.
“To extend that to this part of our lives. He’s playing a lot of junior golf and I’m still playing here.
“It’s cool for him to see the guys he watches on TV and YouTube and TikTok, whatever they do.”
‘IT’S JUST A MATTER OF DOING IT’
Woods, who won this tournament in 2000, 2002 and 2008, will spend the early rounds playing alongside Yorkshireman Matt Fitzpatrick.
Regarding the task ahead, he added: “I feel like I have the strength to achieve it.
“This golf course will test every aspect of your game, especially mentally.
“We’re working on it and making sure that in the next two days I can understand the game plan.”
The US Open will be just Woods’ fourth event in 2024.
He played in the Genesis Open in February before appearing in Augusta for the Masters in April.
Woods last saw action at the PGA Championship last month.
