How Masters WAG Paulina Gretzky became golf pro Dustin Johnson’s secret weapon to success – with £6m modeling career, flirty on-course PDAs and support from a very famous father

TENSIONS rise as fans wait to see who will wear the iconic jacket at the Masters this weekend.

But not all eyes will be on golf if Dustin Johnson’s incredibly stunning wife, Paulina Gretzky, makes another appearance at the Fairway.

She is the backswing king’s biggest cheerleader and has seen Johnson, 39, become one of the most successful golfers of his generation, with six World Golf Championship victories to his name.

All eyes were on the stunner during the opening day of the event in Augusta this week, where she was photographed in a glamorous red dress.

But Paulina only has eyes for her husband when he competes, and the model and career woman has already classified herself as his ‘teammate’.

So much so that even marriage was off limits for nine years, with loving Paulina, 35, putting the golfer’s career first.

“…That guy [Johnson] There’s no downtime,” she told the Pillows and Beer podcast.

“The stress of preparing everything for a wedding would take over my life and his and what I needed to be was his teammate.

“I needed to be there to support him and love him and make sure he was accomplishing what he needed to do.”

So who is this patient, loving woman who is the secret weapon behind Johnson’s success?

Rich power in its own right

The secret to Paulina becoming a powerful force for her husband’s career may lie in the fact that she is a rocket in her own professional life.

Paulina is from Los Angeles and has a career that spans modeling, acting and singing.

She appeared in the films Grown Ups 2 and Fame, and landed lucrative recording contracts.

Nick says: “People have really ignored the golf WAG until now.

“Paulina Gretzky is a pop star and talented model who has accumulated a net worth of around £6 million from modeling and brand deals.

“Alongside her golf superstar husband, who is worth £100 million, the pair are the Posh and Becks of the golf world, with everything they touch turning to gold.

“With their Florida home valued at £8 million, they live a fabulous life.

“Paulina is very active in her husband’s career and not only makes sure he looks good, but also helps him with his sponsorship deals and convinced him to leave the PGA for LIV, which made her even more millions.

“Paulina has carved out a career independent of her husbands, she is an impressive business person in her own right.”

Backbone of the family

Although Dustin’s career takes him all over the world, Paulina is considered the backbone of the family at home so he can focus on golf.

After falling in love, the couple got engaged in 2013 and married in April 2022, exchanging vows in front of a glamorous crowd in a stunning ceremony at the Blackberry Farm luxury hotel and resort in Tennessee, USA.

While Johnson’s career has taken off, so has her family, as the couple share two children, River, seven, and Tatum, nine.

After his second major victory at the 2020 Masters, Johnson paid an emotional tribute to his lover’s hard work, which allowed him to pursue sporting victory.

He said: “She is a huge supporter of mine… obviously in golf or any professional athlete, or even in business you (sic) need to have someone to support you.

“I spent a lot of time outside, or on the golf course, or traveling on the road, whatever.

“So you need that special person, especially with the kids. She does a great job taking care of everything else so all I have to do (sic) is worry about golf.”

Paulina also believes in the importance of teamwork when raising children, she admitted in a chat with KIND magazine: “The example I gave my children with Dustin is that we have to do this together.

“’We’re not always on the same page, but we trust each other enough that I know he’s doing the right thing with our kids and he knows I’m doing the right thing with our kids – we talk about it, but at the fundamental level it is trust.”

Daughter of the great

Paulina isn’t the only Gretzky supporting Johnson’s career — her famous sports star father is also a big encouragement.

Johnson’s father-in-law is Wayne Gretzky, the ice hockey legend and serial title winner.

The golfer wasn’t shy about asking Wayne Gretzky – who earned the title ‘The Great’ for his sporting prowess on the ice – advice from someone he sees as a father figure.

By the time he met Paulina and her father for the first time in 2009, Johnson was a Top 10 golfer, but there was a recklessness that threatened to derail his career.

The same year he met the Gretzky family, he allegedly failed a drug test after testing positive for marijuana, according to Golf.com.

There were rumors that he didn’t have the focus necessary to be champion until he approached Wayne Gretzky.

As golf writer Bob Gillespie revealed: “He might be the father figure Dustin was missing all those years.

“He understands the pressures Dustin is under as a top athlete. The Gretzky family has really embraced Dustin, almost as if he were another son.”

Early in Johnson’s relationship with his daughter, Wayne Gretzky said, “Everyone always knew he had the talent, the ability. But I think he’s matured drastically to the point where he’ll be mad at himself if he doesn’t compete and doesn’t compete. twin.”

Queen of hot kisses

Paulina has been his good luck charm on the fairway – being a unique supporter of the athlete and her support has even extended to caddying for him.

The loving couple became famous for their golf PDA.

Their fiery kisses, when Paulina is fair-side, have become a regular occurrence during golf tournament filming.

Nick adds: “Having the physical support of a powerful person like Paulina when he is physically doing his job is a huge boost for Johnson.”

She knows how to turn up the heat

There’s also an element of Johnson becoming the best in his field to impress his beautiful wife.

Nick says: “Having Paulina by his side is big news for Dustin Johnson. She is beautiful, talented and a loving mother to her children.

“He wants to be at the top of his game and make her proud.

“As a model, she is also a driving force for him to stay in great shape, as she is.”

The model is comfortable raising the temperature in revealing outfits to show off her lithe figure on and off the golf course.

She has built an impressive photo profile on Instagram, where she has over a million followers, regularly posting bikini images and racy nudes.

With modeling being her livelihood, she shared with Golf Digest magazine how she stays in great shape.

She said: “…I was blessed with amazing genes… Look at my parents! But it’s actually 70% diet and 30% exercise. It’s all about getting some exercise wherever you are.

“Dustin and I are very realistic about not letting diet and exercise consume our lives. We’re very much in favor of being healthy and being fit, but we’re also very much in favor of you having a life to live, so have a fun life.”

Shuts down enemies

Paulina had to weather storms that protected Johnson and his family, allowing him to continue playing golf while she took on a protective role.

Earlier this year, she revealed that she received death threats following her husband’s move from the PGA Tour to LIV Golf.

This defection to the rebel circuit shook the sport and left the model fearful for the safety of her family.

She opened up after her husband’s move during a chat in the Full Swing documentary, revealing that the level of abuse she received forced her to take a step back from social media.

She says: ‘People (were) sending death threats and horrible, horrible, horrible things… people were aggressive, that’s for sure. But that’s when I turned off (social media) for a bit. I was like ‘I don’t need to look at this’…”

As the woman who is the wind beneath the wings of one of the most successful golfers of his generation, Dustin Johnson is very lucky to have her on his course.
