PAIGE SPIRANAC has jumped to the defense of Rory McIlroy following his US Open meltdown.
The Northern Irish golfer lost his first major tournament in a decade as Bryson DeChambeau claimed victory.

McIlroy, 35, bogeyed three of the last four holes to see his lead slip away and his chances of victory slip.
When the final ball dropped, he left the Pinehurst Resort.
A video was recorded of him leaving after allegedly refusing to give an interview.
However, Paige, 31, defended the golfer and insisted he should take a “break”.
She wrote: “Hot, but I don’t mind when athletes do it.
“He gave us everything he had on the field and gave us a really fun day.
“I feel so sorry for Rory right now and I can’t even imagine how he’s feeling.
“Give him a break.”
Many of Paige’s followers agreed with her as they flooded the comments section.
One posted: “Yeah, no big deal. He’s obviously upset about his play today… He has every right to finish and not want to talk.”
A second commented: “I’m with Paige on this.”
A third wrote: “I agree. Any real competitor should be upset.”
A fourth said: “You are correct.”
Another added: “Definitely gave him a break.”
Six-time major winner Sir Nick Faldo has claimed McIlroy will be haunted forever after his collapse.
He said on Sky Sports: “This will haunt Rory for the rest of his life, those two fouls.”
