RORY McILROY was left devastated after narrowly missing out on the US Open title.
The 35-year-old came agonizingly close to ending his 10-year wait for a major title on Sunday.

However, with five holes left in play, he made three bogeys to squander a two-stroke lead over Bryson DeChambeau.
McIlroy gave his rival an unexpected lifeline after missing a four-foot par putt on the final hole.
And DeChambeau took advantage of the opportunity with both hands to secure the title.
McIlroy watched desperately as the American completed his last throw before heading straight back to the locker room.
After returning inside, he looked completely despondent and on the verge of tears as he stood silently beside his caddy.
McIlroy left the Pinehurst Resort immediately, missing the final ceremony.
He also refused to speak to the media.
DeChambeau expressed sympathy for McIlroy after winning the title.

He said: “For him to miss that shot, I would never wish that on anyone.
“Rory will win several more major championships. There’s no doubt about it. I think the fire in him will continue to grow.”
