GOLF star Rory McIlroy has been spotted with his wife for the first time since the couple called off their divorce.

The 35-year-old filed for divorce in May, but announced last week that he was voluntarily dismissed.

In an official statement, he said The Guardian: “Recently, there have been rumors about my personal life, which is unfortunate. Responding to every rumor is a fool’s game.

“Over the past few weeks, Erica and I have realized that our best future would be as a united family.

“Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a fresh start.”

McIlroy and his wife, Erica Stoll, were spotted together with their three-year-old daughter in Florida on Monday.

Stoll was wearing her engagement ring, while her husband had his wedding ring on.

The couple were spotted together just hours after McIlroy’s heartbreaking loss at the US Open.

McIlroy came agonizingly close to ending his 10-year wait for a major title over the weekend.

He was on track to win the US Open, but made three bogeys with five holes remaining to squander a two-stroke lead over Bryson DeChambeau.

The Northern Irish golf star watched in despair as his rival swept the competition.

He then left the Pinehurst Resort immediately, missing the final ceremony.

DeChambeau expressed sympathy for McIlroy after winning the title and said, “For him to miss that shot, I would never wish that on anyone.

“Rory will win several more major championships. There’s no doubt about it. I think the fire in him will continue to grow.”

Inside Rory McIlroy’s turbulent love life

RORY MCILROY had a high-profile romance with former tennis world number one Caroline Wozniacki before their split in 2014.

The following year, the golf ace began dating Erica Stoll, whom he met on the PGA Tour in 2011.

Erica frequently interacted with players through her role as volunteer operations manager for the PGA Championship.

She even saved McIlroy from losing his playing time at the 2012 Ryder Cup after some confusion over the time zone.

The incident began a strong friendship between the two, four years before their relationship turned romantic.

McIlroy and Erica were spotted on a series of dates in Rochester, New York in the early days of their relationship.

Just eight months later, the couple got engaged in Paris and walked down the aisle at Ashford Castle in Ireland in 2017.

The pair then welcomed daughter Poppy into the world three years later.

Throughout their time together, McIlroy and Erica kept their relationship to themselves, with the golfer keen to shield his family from cameras while filming Netflix documentary series Full Swing.

However, after seven years of marriage, McIlroy filed for divorce from Erica.

The reasons for the divorce were not disclosed, but the Northern Irishman filed documents with a Florida court.

However, a few weeks later, they made a U-turn on their decision to divorce.

McIlroy told the outlet, “Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a fresh start.”
