SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER’S caddy was forced to lie down next to a green at The Open after falling ill.
The golf star shot 70 for the second time in a row, tying for fourth on the weekend despite struggles from his friend Ted Scott.
As the world No. 1 tried to chase down leader Shane Lowry, the ailing Scott had to take a break.
Concerned spectators saw Scott having to lie down near the ninth green while Scheffler and his playing partners Jordan Spieth and Cameron Young putt.
After the round, Scheffler, 28, revealed that Scott was suffering from a stomach problem but was able to continue fighting.
He said: “He had food poisoning or some kind of stomach bug.
“He didn’t sleep much on Thursday night and we didn’t know if he would be able to go this morning, but he fought back.
“You saw him lying outside a little bit, which was really funny.
“It was one of those deals. I’m used to him being in one position, standing next to the bag, and all of a sudden, at number 9, he was literally sitting on the 10th tee for 10 minutes while we were putting.
“’I didn’t even see him, which was a little unusual, but he’s a fighter.

“He fought through it and did a good job.”
Scheffler and fellow Americans Xander Schauffele and Bryson DeChambeau won the first three Majors this year.
If either of them managed to win the Open, the US would make a remarkable clean sweep.
It would be the first time this has happened since 1982, when Tom Watson, Craig Slater and Raymond Floyd won all four majors.
Scheffler also spoke about his form after completing the round.
He added: “I feel like I’m in a decent position.
“I would like to be leading, but I played two solid rounds and I’m going to keep trying to hit good shots and good putts.”
