FRENCH DUKE (1.50 Goodwood, nap)

He caught the eye when sixth in the King George V at Royal Ascot by making his challenge too early. He has a hood to help him settle in today and there is more to come than what appears to be a fair handicap mark.

NOTABLE SPEECH (3.35 Goodwood, nb)

He was one of several Charlie Appleby horses to have had a mare at Royal Ascot and can show his true colors here. He was brilliant in beating Rosallion – who will no longer be here due to a respiratory infection – in the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket and a repeat of that could take the spoils.

AESTERIUS (3.00 Goodwood, treble)

He was slightly off the pace in the Group 2 Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot and showed his class by running in Listed competition at Sandown earlier this month. This was only his third race, so there is much more to come from this speedy colt.

THE FRENCH DUKE caught the eye when he was sixth in the King George V at Royal Ascot, making his challenge too early.

Most read in Horse Racing

He has a hood to help him settle in today and there is more to come than what appears to be a fair handicap mark.

Subsequent did well to get back to the line in Salisbury last time after being headed.

A 7 pound increase means he needs to find more, but it’s still early days and he’s capable of doing better.

Goodwood Odyssey saw this trip well when taking third place at Newmarket last time out. Your yard is in good shape and blinders for the first time can help.

Lord Of Love has won his last two, including on this trip. He weighs in at 4 pounds for the last game win and is right in the mix.

Gallantly didn’t fire at Ascot after a good Chester win and could easily bounce back with Ryan Moore taking over.

2.25

BREEGE showed a fondness for Goodwood when beaten in a Listed race here in May and then beat Princess Elizabeth at Epsom.

She was far from disgraced in the Duke Of Cambridge at Royal Ascot before another good attempt at Chester at the latest. This trip is good and she will be there.

Jabaara looks the biggest threat after his excellent second place in the Group 1 Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket 19 days ago.

It was more than a kilometer, but she won two competitions listed on this trip and will not lack pace.

Raqiya could make his presence felt if he follows this longer trip after some good performances over six furlongs.

She has performed well in this series at the latest in York and cannot be missed.

Stop The Cavalry could be open to plenty of improvements after comfortable handicap success at Chester last time out.

This was shorter, but she thinks this trip will be ideal.

Fair Angellica was a good listed winner at Deauville and is better than we saw at Royal Ascot.

AESTERIUS was some way off the pace in the Group 2 Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot and showed his class by running in Listed competition at Sandown earlier this month.

This was only his third race, so there is much more to come from this speedy colt.

Celandine didn’t last more than six furlongs in Group 2 Chantilly last time.

This drop in distance gives the leader more chances to hold on.

Vingegaard was just beaten in the Super Sprint at Newbury last time. He was chosen among those who set the pace and he will be there again.

Usdi Atohi has Ryan Moore taking charge after his battle to victory in the Listed at Tipperary last time. She was ahead by a long way and did well in fighting off her opponents.

Binadham held firm in the Norfolk Stakes and was third in France last time out. He needs to find more, but he can sneak into the frame.

Soldier’s Heart won the course and distance last time, which is an advantage at this tricky venue.

Mr Lightside looked quick in Nottingham and deserves this walk in class.

3.35

There’s no Rosallion here, but that doesn’t matter to us since NOTABLE SPEECH was my choice anyway.

He was one of several Charlie Appleby horses to have had a mare at Royal Ascot and can show his true colors here.

He was brilliant in beating Rosallion in the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket and a repeat of that could take the prize.

Henry Longfellow can obviously go well for Aidan O’Brien, but the Ballydoyle manager has been a little below his usual strike rate.

Facteur Cheval is no scoundrel and was absent from the action on the Queen Anne at Royal Ascot. He has a light run for his age and isn’t just making up numbers here.

4.10

ELLADONNA looked ready for this stronger company when winning easily at Salisbury last time.

She has always been in control and coach James Fanshawe’s booking of Ryan Moore is another positive.

Power Of Destiny comes from the legend Sir Michael Stoute and has a victory on this trip under his belt.

The handicapped has been fair with her initial mark of 87.

Warda Jamila ran at Royal Ascot when 1m4f didn’t suit and she had no luck chasing the lead last time. It screams in every way for Andrew Balding.

Wisper came close at Windsor last time and a 2lb increase in weights seems fair enough.

There’s The Door cannot be ignored given your fondness for this journey and trail.

She wasn’t beaten much at Ascot and had a little push down in the weights.

Al Anoud came close the last time he covered this distance at Windsor, two races ago, and has more to offer.
