THE Mets are reportedly adding some depth to the organization by bringing back a familiar face in right-hander Vinny Nittoliaccording to Anthony Dicomo of MLB.com.
The terms of the pact are still unknown, but the replacement is expected to report to Triple-A Syracuse.
Nittoli has been a member of 11 different organizations since being selected out of Xavier University in the 25th round of the MLB Draft by the Seattle Mariners in 2014.
The right-hander had a brief stint in the Big Apple last season, where he allowed just one earned run and struck out three in three starts in a shorthanded bullpen.
Nittoli spent time with the Oakland Athletics and Baltimore Orioles this season and pitched relatively well again, giving up just two runs while striking out eight in 12 innings of work.
He has a 4.33 ERA and a 1.23 WHIP in 218 starts over his minor league career.
