WATCH: Kodai Senga pitches in the outfield at Citi Field as the Mets face the Phillies in London

The Mets and Philadelphia Phillies played the second game of their two-game set in London on Sunday afternoon, but the ace Kodai Senga continued his rehabilitation work in the United States.

Newsday’s Laura Albanese captured video of Senga playing on flat ground in the outfield at Citi Field on Sunday morning. Citi Field was hosting a viewing party for the India-Pakistan Cricket World Cup match.

The last update given to Senga came from the manager Carlos Mendoza on Saturday, who said it is “fair to say” that Senga will not pitch in the first half of the season and that it is currently “difficult to put a timeline on” as to when Senga might return.

Senga had progressed to bullpen sessions while recovering from a strained posterior capsule in his right shoulder, but a triceps issue returned him to where he had long been playing in the outfield. The right-hander received a cortisone shot in late May after an MRI revealed inflammation of the nerve in his triceps.
