David Hamilton scored and doubled to help the Boston Red Sox strolling through Chicago White Sox 6-4 in 10 innings on Sunday.

Jarren Duran reached on an error by reliever Michael Soroka (0-7) in the 10th, and Ceddanne Rafaela scored on Jamie Westbrook’s sacrifice fly. Rob Refsnyder singled in another run as Boston (33-33) returned to .500.

Kenley Jansen (2-1) struck out five in two innings for the win. Cam Booser hit twice in the bottom of the 10th for his first career save.

Paul DeJong hit a three-run homer and doubled for the White Sox, who had won two in a row a franchise-record 14-game losing streak.

Corey Julks also had two hits for Chicago, which is a major league-worst 17-49. The White Sox haven’t won more than two straight since May 8-11 against Tampa Bay and Cleveland.

Hamilton doubled and scored on Reese McGuire’s sacrifice bunt over Tanner Banks to tie it at 4 in the ninth.

The White Sox went ahead 4-3 in the seventh. Julks led off with a double, and pinch runner Duke Ellis scored on a single for Gavin Leaves.

Duran, who scored three times, walked and came home on the groundout to tie it at 3 in the sixth.

DeJong’s three-run shot put the White Sox ahead after the Red Sox committed three errors in the fourth. Sheets made an error when pitcher Justin Slaten tried to cover first, advanced on Hamilton’s gaff at shortstop and moved to third on McGuire’s failed catch behind the plate before DeJong’s 12th home run of the season.

The Red Sox also had an eventful game in the sixth. DeJong achieved a ground-rule double when a fly ball went past left fielder Duran and center fielder Rafaela on a windy day.

Hamilton hit his third home run in the fifth.

Duran led off the fourth with his major league-leading 10th triple and scored on a double play for a 1–0 Boston lead. He has the most triples in a Red Sox season since Jacoby Ellsbury’s 10 in 2009.

Chris Flexen allowed two runs in five innings for Chicago.

Zack Kelly struck out three over two scoreless innings in his first career one-day start in the Red Sox bullpen.

IN MOTION

The White Sox plans to bring in right-hander Drew Thorpe from Double-A Birmingham to make his major league debut Tuesday in Seattle. Thorpe, one of the team’s top prospects, was acquired from San Diego in the Dylan Cease trade in March.

“He’s a hit thrower, he’s a competitor, he’s got a positive change-plus-plus” coach Pedro Grifol he said.

Thorpe, 23, is 7-1 with a 1.35 ERA in 11 starts with Birmingham. He has 56 strikeouts and 17 walks in 60 innings.

Thorpe was traded from the New York Yankees to San Diego in the Juan Soto deal in December.

Also on Sunday, the White Sox optioned right-hander Nick Nastrini to Triple-A Charlotte, brought in left-hander Sammy Peralta from Charlotte and designated left-hander Shane Drohan for assignment.
