JD MartinezThe new boots have officially arrived.

O MetsThe slugger was scratched in Tuesday’s game due to pain in his left ankle that he suffered from a new cleat he was wearing after the original ones didn’t arrive in time because they were backordered.

But we have news that Martinez’s cleats have arrived in DC ahead of Wednesday’s contest and he is officially back in the lineup in his usual third spot as designated hitter.

With the young marginalized veteran Marcos Vientos was beaten down the order against the lefty in Tuesday’s win and responded with a strong 2-for-5 showing with an RBI.

Bringing Martinez back into the lineup will certainly be huge for New York, as he was a spectacular addition to the lineup on and off the field during his first season with the team.

The 36-year-old left his mark on the club and hit .278, one triple, 13 doubles, 10 homers, 37 RBI and an .853 OPS in 56 games.
