The Yankees entered Friday having lost 14 of their last 19 games and received a lot of criticism, but a tweet on Thursday attracted a lot of attention before their game against the Red Sox.

Richard Schenck, the team’s personal hitting coach, Aaron Judge, responded to a YES Network tweet about the Yankees slugger, saying, “They lost 13 of 18 while he was hitting like an MVP. The Yankees’ offensive player development is terrible.”

On Friday, Judge — who said he meets with Schenck every two weeks — was asked about his personal trainer’s comments.

“It doesn’t involve me, to be honest,” Judge said, for Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. “It’s someone else making a comment. I’m not going to comment for someone else. …I have no control over what someone else does. It’s out of my control. I have nothing for you.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone was also asked about the comments and basically ignored them.

“People are going to say things and certainly everyone is entitled to their opinion,” Boone said. “Especially when you go through a rough patch and wear this uniform, I know people are going to get shot at and stuff like that.

“You can’t be totally consumed by all these things. We have enough to worry about, making sure we are paying attention and doing our best every day. So that’s the focus.”

In addition to the judge and Juan Sotono Yankee player entered Friday having scored better than .253 for the season, while the only other players with an OPS above .700 are Giancarlo Stanton (0.795 and in IL since June 22) and Alex Verdugo (0.703).
